  4.     DECLARED INCOMPETENT. Harry Helmsley, 80, hotelier who with
  5. his wife Leona heads a $5 billion real estate empire; in New
  6. York City. U.S. District Judge John Walker held that Helmsley's
  7. memory lapses and reasoning difficulties make him unfit to stand
  8. trial on 47 counts of tax evasion, and added that Helmsley's
  9. prominence played no part in the decision. The Helmsleys are
  10. charged with disguising as business expenses $4 million in
  11. renovations to their country mansion.  Leona Helmsley and two
  12. former aides are due to go on trial June 26.
